Calling of Ramadhan

The ‘Calling of Ramadhan’ is an art exhibition contributed by 10 renowned Malaysian artists. Inspired by Raja Azhar’s visit to the Holy Land and in conjunction with the coming of Holy Ramadhan, these contemporary artists are taking up the challenge by using a modern approach to create exciting and captivating artworks to depict and glorify the greatness of Allah. Artworks showcased are based on each artist’s unique interpretation of Ramadhan using different materials and medium while exploring and incorporating colours and textures into their artworks. The collection features modern Arabic calligraphy, abstract paintings, social commentary artworks, drawings and sculptures portraying the spirit of Ramadhan. Thus this exhibition is truly a unique experience providing insight into the mystical month of Ramadhan as seen and felt by the artists.

Supplied and installed original works on canvas for executive lounge (Total number of works 11 pieces). New World Hotel - K.L. Commissioned, supplied and installed original works of art, weavings and 3-dimensional designs for reception and several floors (Total number of works 42 pieces). New World Hotel - Hong Kong 120 pieces of limited edition gold-leaf etchings by Raja Azhar Idris. Mandarin Oriental Hotel, K.L.C.C. Commissioned Art Case Galleries to complete and install 30 original works which are displayed in the Main Lobby, Health Club, Coffee Lounge and outside the Main Ballroom. The Petronas Philharmonic Hall, KLCC Twin Towers, K.L. Commissioned to complete a series of traditional musicians including works denoting traditional dances for their exclusive suites. Art Case Galleries was also selected to frame and install more than fifty original works commissioned by Petronas to adorn the walls of the Philharmonic Hall.

6 to 10 Hospital Malacca, Malacca Installed 30 pieces of original works from the cream of Malaysian contemporary artists for the very latest public hospital in Malacca including two commissioned textural glass works by Raja Azhar Idris. The Ascott Apartments, K.L. Raja Azhar Idris commissioned to complete approximately 450 original mono-prints for the bedrooms. Affin-UOB Securities Sdn Bhd, K.L. Raja Azhar Idris commissioned to complete a selection of greeting cards, mono-prints and calendars as gifts for selected clients of the company. Grey Advertising (M) Sdn Bhd, Empire Tower, K.L. A series of limited edition gold leaf etchings by Raja Azhar Idris were commissioned as gifts for managers attending the annual international conference. AIA Insurance (Head Office) Three abstract textural glass panels by Raja Azhar Idris and of various sizes, was commissioned and installed in their new premises.

10 to 14 Sapura Group, Head Office, The Mines, Seri Kembangan 17 original works by some of the most established artists were installed at their new premises at The Mines in Sri Kembangan. Southern Finance Bhd, K.L. Installed 29 works in their offices at Wisma Mui ranging from established to young and emerging artists. MaybanLife Assurance, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur 20 separate panels of textural glass by Raja Azhar Idris (varying in size and totalling 18ft x 15ft) commissioned for the main entrance foyer of their new premises.
